I see your interests are the Golden Rule. I believe it states: do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Do you really believe you would be happy as an elephant or tiger/ chained & mistreated in circuses & other forums? If you truly believe in the golden rule, you must consider this & stop what you're doing, otherwise you're just a hypocrite!
I would not be happy to be mistreated in any situation. Fortunately, there are good facilities to counter the bad.
To place broad stereotypes on any subject matter is ignorant. To follow your reasoning, it would be dire to be an alter boy or receptive of charity work by assistant college football coaches.
Please do not continue to throw stones behind your anonymity. It is unbecoming.
Dear Mis-informed, Why don't you go to peta kills animals and see what your organizations are doing with the money they collect and how much they really care about animals. Ryan's animals receive the best care and do not seem to lack any creature comforts. You should do some research before you start accusing others. Bob Kitto

The hiding behind anonymity really doesn't bother me. The fact that the lack of knowledge shows through is what is disturbing. Broadly lumping everything together under the same banner is sterotypical nonsense. Because one football player does drugs doesn't make the entire NFL drug abusers.
If you have a specific issue to address, that's one thing. Saying every animal is abused is pure hogwash. As an animal trainer and handler for over 15 years, I can sort out the true statements rather quickly from those that aren't. Knowledge is a wonderful thing. Knowledge is having enough instinct to find out for yourself what is truth or fiction, not taking someone's word for it. Brainwashing is not Knowledge.
It's almost a promotional image Ryan. Batman of course was very popular when the series first aired. I'll have a dig while I'm looking for my notes to answer the other question you asked me about Wirth's being in the USA. Got a little bogged with some history on another elephant I was researching named Titania.
Liz, I found the news article in question about Jewel. I will try to post it soon.
Wade, Disney had elephants??? Referencing the North Amerixan Regional Studbook for the Asian Elephant, The Disneyland of Anaheim, California, had a female at an unknown time fr an unknown duration. Her name was ( or rather now is ) Wanda, an animal with a long history, moat notably formerly of the Detroit Zoo, now residing at Pat Derby's private facility in California.
I eagerly anticipate associating with new individuals with an interest or history in elephants, elephant history and elephant record keeping. If you have further information regarding the animals or locations questioned in the article, please leave a comment or message me in an effort to complete their records for elephant historians.
