Bill Prickett Collection - Julius von Uhl

Ryan,

The next three photos are of Baron Julius von Uhl, and elephant, taken June-1997, at Circus Hall of Fame, Peru, Ind. I have no additional info on the elephant.

Best Regards,

Bill Prickett

The elephant to which Mr. Prickett refers to in these photographs from his collection was 12 year old Twiggy. Baron Julius von Uhl acquired Twiggy around 1990 from a closing amusement park in Michigan. He retained ownership of her for his "Von Uhl's Circus" until, among much controversy, she was confiscated by the United States Department of Agriculture in February 2010 and relocated by the government to the Toledo Zoo in Ohio.

  1. His USDA license is listed as suspended. I guess he is out of the cat business as well.

I eagerly anticipate associating with new individuals with an interest or history in elephants, elephant history and elephant record keeping. If you have further information regarding the animals or locations questioned in the article, please leave a comment or message me in an effort to complete their records for elephant historians.
